Backup Exec from Veritas Now Supports Linux Clients

Jun 12, 1999, 23:41 (2 Talkback[s])

Thanks to Chris McDonough for this report.

The latest release build (version 7.3, build 2371) of Backup Exec for Windows NT from Veritas (who recently bought the product from Seagate) now supports Linux clients.

An upgrade from Backup Exec version 7.2 to this version is free. Those who use Backup Exec 7.0 or earlier must pay an upgrade fee. No details are available on the Veritas website for obtaining only the Linux client code without the server portion.
