"Some time ago we brought you all the news that there was a free COBOL compiler for Linux in the works. Well, we are happy to bring you all an update. Rildo emailed us with the news that the Tiny COBOL Project has a new home courtesy of VA Linux Systems and has grown quite a bit since their inception. They are looking for contributors as well as beta testers. Presently, the compiler is generating UNIX assembly type code and with the aid of GCC can create executable binaries that are somewhat functional...."
