BW: 1MAGE Software Announces Document Imaging for Linux

Dec 10, 1999, 21:46 (2 Talkback[s])

"1MAGE Software...a leading provider of electronic imaging systems for UNIX and NT environments, today announced the availability of its core imaging products on Linux, further expanding its offerings in the document imaging market. With 1MAGE, companies now have multiple choices of operating platforms. The first shipments of 1MAGE will be on Red Hat Linux's...release, and Ardent Software Inc.'s (NasdaqNM:ARDT) Universe database. With this new release, the capabilities of 1MAGE, previously only available on UNIX and NT, are made available on LINUX, one of the world's fastest- growing operating systems for the Internet."

"This means that users can efficiently share information with suppliers, customers and geographically dispersed business associates without investing in expensive operating software solutions. They can simply use their existing Linux, NT, or UNIX platforms as servers for the 1MAGE document management system. In addition, 1MAGE Software's clients for the desktop -- X terminals, Windows PCs, and character terminals, will also be available on Linux, furthering the customer's efficiency by utilizing previous investments in existing workstations."
