"This is an interview that I recently conducted with some people that are someway involved with the GNOME Project. It talks largely about the future of GNOME and what the developers are currently working on. The topics discussed were general visual appearance of GNOME, GConf, Eye of Gnome + GdkPixbuf, GMC and its replacement, Glade and Libglade, gtk+, and the new WM Spec....I hope you enjoy it. Also note, that the questions and sections are in no particular order :) "
"Looking back at GNOME 1.0 and October GNOME, what are some things that you learned that you wish to incorporate in future GNOME releases (be it 1.1.0 or 2.0)?"
"[Miguel de Icaza (email@example.com)]:
Many things are being worked on for the next release of GNOME: The new configuration system (GConf), the new image loading system (Gdk-pixbuf) that replaces Imlib, the Bonobo component and document model (Based entirely on CORBA and inspired in various existing component and document models), the GNOME Object Activation Framework and various smaller tasks."
