Jan 28, 2000, 17:45 (0 Talkback[s])

"VMware, Inc., developer of software that enables a single computer to run multiple operating systems simultaneously, today announced that it has been selected as an Info World Magazine analyst pick for 1999 Product of the Year. Kevin Railsback, a Senior Test Center Analyst for Info World, chose VMware from among the dozens of products evaluated in the past year by Info World analysts."

"We're delighted that we were an analyst pick for Info World's 1999 Product of the Year," remarked Diane Greene, President and CEO of VMware. "We have always aspired to provide a unique and valuable approach to today's need for flexible computing, and we are honored by Info World's recognition of our efforts."

"Among other things, Railsback identified VMware's ability to run Microsoft Windows applications on the Linux operating system, its benefits for developers, and its potential applications for servers as the reasons that he picked VMware for this award. According to Railsback, "Of all the cool hardware and software I've looked at this year, VMware is by far the one that I have found the most useful."
