Feb 05, 2000, 20:59 (0 Talkback[s])

[ Thanks to Fernando Correa for this link. ]

"We have interviewed Alfredo Kojima, the creator of WindowMaker, one of the most popular window managers among GNU/Linux users. This interview took place during an event called Exposalt about operating systems at Federal University Fluminense, Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro last weekend. Kojima was a key speaker in the event where he delivered a lecture about the details of his creation. OLinux's staff caught him in a rare moment when he gave us details about his work with WindowMaker...."

"OLinux: What are your main motivations and purposes developing windowmaker?"

"Kojima: Learn to program using unix platform and better skills in programming techniques. I had never thought that windowmaker would reach the world, but I use to receive many e-mail with words of support and motivation about my work. I recommend the use of Linux but without any fireworks."
