NewsBytes: Linux Unwanted On Australian Corporate Desktops

"More than half of Australia's corporate IT departments are now making some use of the Linux operating system, but mainly in servers - and few have any plans for Linux on the desktop, according to a survey by trade journal Corporate IT."

"It found that 43 percent of 417 Australian companies sampled are using Linux regularly, and an additional 24 percent had systems under evaluation."

"However most use is confined to corporate servers. Only 13 percent of companies saw Linux playing any significant role on the desktop."
