NB: Linux To Pay Off For Australia - SGI ChiefMar 09, 2000, 17:10 (0 Talkback[s])
"Linux has the potential to put Australia on the software development map, US-based Silicon Graphics chief executive Bob Bishop told the Linux Open Source Expo and Conference in Sydney on Wednesday, as he stressed SGI's growing commitment to the open source operating system.
"'Australia has a great deal of creativity and a multicultural background to fuel content creation. Australia has always developed very sensitive content that probably would not be made in the US and Asia,' he said."
"Bishop also said he expects the open source model for software development would be the enduring one in the 21st century."
