"Coates, who owns about 5 per cent of Inprise's outstanding
shares, called on the Inprise board Tuesday night to consider other
takeover offers for the firm...."
"Judging by yesterday's meeting, most Corel investors are
quite happy with the firm's performance over the past
year."
"Not only has the company returned to profitability, but its
shares were trading as low as $2 on the Nasdaq exchange about a
year ago, well below yesterday's close of $20. It's a similar
picture for Inprise, whose share price has more than tripled since
last April."
