"Cobalt Networks Inc., after deciding earlier to bundle ChiliSoft on its application server applicances, on Thursday decided to buy the product's privately held developer."

"ChiliSoft Inc., Bellvue, Wash., develops e-commerce sofware aimed at allowing dynamic Web sites that use Microsoft Corp.'s Active Service Pages to be accessible to users regardless of platform."

"There are many ways to develop dynamic Web sites, where the page changes every time it is accessed, but Active Services Pages (ASP) is the easiest, Herrell said."

"However, while ASP runs natively on Microsoft-based servers, applications like those from ChiliSoft makes them accessible to users via other platforms such as Linux and Unix, he said."
