Mar 29, 2000, 21:17 (0 Talkback[s])

"OSP Software Development Kit to Enable Value Added Functionality To IP Telephony Network Devices."

"TransNexus... has announced the introduction of the TransNexus OSP Toolkit. This software development kit, the first of its kind, provides secure inter-IP domain call authorization, and call detail reporting between Internet Telephony gateways or their controllers..., and settlement service providers. The OSP Toolkit is available as a free download from the TransNexus web site for any vendor of IP telephony network devices wishing to implement VoIP clearing and settlement as a value-added application for its VoIP product offering quickly and easily."

"'Implementing an OSP client is not exceptionally difficult, but going from the specification to working code can be an extremely tedious and time-consuming task,' said Stephen Thomas, CTO for TransNexus. 'The OSP Toolkit, which has been exhaustively tested in Unix, Windows and embedded OS environments and conforms to ETSI and VoIP Forum standards for settlement services, includes all the tools necessary for a complete implementation of the Open Settlement Protocol, including standard C-Language source code, extensive documentation, and test tools.'"

"The Open Settlement Protocol (OSP), a client-server protocol defined within the ETSI organization (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), establishes authenticated connections between gateways and gatekeepers, allows the secure transfer of accounting and routing information, and provides inter-service provider billing for Voice or Fax over IP calls."
