LinuxPR: Chinese/English Wordprocessor for Linux OS Developed by Korean Vendor

"A Korean Linux application software company, HancomLinux,Inc. has completed development of the simplified Chinese/English input enabled wordprocessor 'HancomWord R5'. The Seoul based company is looking for approximately 1,000 beta testers for its one month long heavy beta testing and will go on official sale in April."

"'HancomWord' has the identical interface as the Windows based wordprocessor, and it support double byte character so as to Chinese and Korean, Japanese can easily use. Furthermore it can easily read and save files and documents made on foreign wordprocessors such as MS word. As it can also be converted with all outside input systems supporting XIM (X-window Input Method) programs, not only English, but also various languages including Chinese, Korean can be conveniently put in with 'HancomWord' regardless of the language of the Linux-run system."

"The successful application of the 'Wine' technology made possible the swift porting of current Windows based wordprocessor, which has been continuously developed for the past 10 years, for a Linux version. 'Wine' is a development tool made for the purpose of admitting Windows application programs to be used in a Linux environment and has been openly tested by Linux programmers all over the world since 1993."
