Segars to lead the company's business development and strategic
alliance activities. The appointment brings a former Dell
veteran with extensive skills and experience in developing
strategic technology relationships to Atipa's management team."
"Segars joins Atipa as Vice President of Strategic Alliances and
Business Development. She has 17 years of experience in all aspects
of technology transfer, including negotiation and development of
strategic technology contracts and agreements, software and
hardware licensing and distribution, and alliance development and
management. Segars will have global responsibility for building
Atipa's growing network of partnerships and alliances."
"Prior to joining Atipa, Segars was Strategic Commodity
Manager--Software at Dell where she negotiated and managed Dell's
portfolio of software licensing and distribution agreements,
including Linux agreements with Red Hat, LinuxCare, and Turbolinux.
Segars also managed strategic supplier relationships and helped
lead efforts to optimize software acquisitions. Prior to Dell, she
held management positions in technology acquisitions in software
and hardware at Texaco, and in litigation at Shell Oil company. She
holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Thurgood Marshall School of
Law at Texas Southern University and a Bachelor of Arts from
Spelman College."
