"Following the third publication of source code on February
28th, the Open CASCADE Department of Matra Datavision has continued
development of the Open CASCADE modeling components and today
announced that version 3.0, certified from the Open Source version,
will be available in April 2000. Open CASCADE now includes standard
IGES and STEP data exchange capabilities, thereby offering a
complete range of functions for the programming and integration of
graphical scientific and technical applications."
"Open CASCADE has been available on Linux platforms since
December 20, 1999, and was the first modeling kernel available on
Linux in the domain of CAD/CAM/CAE. In April, version 3.0 also runs
on SUN Solaris, IBM/AIX, SGI and Windows NT platforms. This version
will be available as a CD-ROM or can be downloaded from the
http://www.opencascade.com

leadership of Michel Rochon and continues to accept new members. As
of today, the team includes participants from Canada, France and
