"Microsoft Corp. has hired Ralph Reed, a senior consultant to George Bush's campaign for the U.S. presidency, to lobby Bush regarding the government's antitrust case against the dominant personal computer software company, the New York Times reported Tuesday."
"The company's aim, according to the Times, is to win favor with the presidential candidate, and possibly to take advantage of the relationship should the top Republican nominee win the Oval Office."
"Microsoft (MSFT...) spokesman Mark Murray reportedly commented that the company had hired Century Strategies to counter "a comprehensive lobbying campaign by our competitors" to push the government suit against Microsoft."
