"The Redhat CEO said the applications company would have a strong motivation to dovetail its work with competing operating systems, including Linux and Unix."

"Just give me the phone number," Bob Young, Chairman of the Linux company, told RadioWallStreet.com in a program exploring fallout from the Justice Department announcement. "We'll be ready to work with them."

"He also said the technology of the desktop computing world had been held back by the Windows stranglehold, and innovation would only come with a fresh start unhindered by the existing "1980s-based binary" model. "The desktop problem will be solved by replacing the whole windows technology model," Young told the panelists of the Linux League."
