May 24, 2000, 07:08 (0 Talkback[s])
"Collab.Net, a leading provider of collaborative services for
emerging open source software markets, today announced a new RFP
(Request For Proposal) that will create a specification for
development of an open source project management tool. This is the
first project to be sponsored from the Developer Wish List on
Collab.Net's sourceXchange marketplace."
"sourceXchange is the premier exchange for financing and
managing open source software development over the Internet.
Developers with ideas for open source projects can go to
sourceXchange and post them under the Wishes Section. Periodically,
Collab.Net will review the wish list and work with the
sourceXchange community to determine interesting projects for
Collab.Net to sponsor. Once the RFPs are created, the project is
developed though the normal sourceXchange model."
"The new project, "Specification Writing for Web-Based Project
Planning Software" is co-sponsored by Opendesk.com, the first, free
open source Intranet for small business. The goal of the new
specification writing project is to identify a functional set of
requirements that can be used to develop project management
software that addresses the unique needs of the open source
community. This project is the first step in developing open
source project management software."
