"IT managers will have to hold their breath a little longer for
the 64bit Linux kernel - but might receive an early Christmas
present"
"Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux open source operating
system, has said that the long-awaited 64bit version 2.4 of the
Linux kernel is still some weeks away."
"At the Linux World Conference and Expo Torvalds said, "It's
been slower than many people would like. With luck, we'll see it
early in December." Development of the kernel has been locked
and only bug fixes are being worked on at this stage."
