"Three programs. Three interesting programs. That's what I'll be discussing in this article. Each one of them is related to playing chess and improving your skills in that regard. But they each approach it in a different manner.

The Sourceforge website is one of the greatest resources the Linux community has and the programs we'll be discussing in this article each have their own sourceforge home page. This is not a coincidence though. It seems that many projects are hosted there and so Sourceforge has become a very instrumental avenue for software developers.

This article will kick off a series of articles having to do with entertainment software. The reason for that is simple. There has to be some reason why we would want to sit in front of the computer. To listen to music, to watch dvds or whatever it is, you can bet that I want to do those things."
