"TM - Why did you decide to start developing VectorLinux and why did you choose to base it loosely on Slackware in the beginning?

"RSL - I first began using Linux about 5 years ago and like most people I went from distro to distro looking for something that fit my style of computing. I didn't have much success with my early attempts at Linux so I settled on giving FreeBSD a try. Well, after several days I managed to get it installed and began my journey into the wonderful world of the Unix like operating system. FreeBSD forces you to learn about your hardware and how to compile a kernel if you want to have any hope of getting anything besides your hard drive to work in its system..."
