Gst-player 0.5.0

Gstreamer Player "Number 5 is Alive"
0.5.0 released

This is a the 0.5.0 release of the
GStreamer Player. It should be used
with GStreamer releases 0.6.0 and
higher. The player is still in the
early stages of development and
things may not work as expected.
Gst-player is a player application
which can play back all media
supported by the GStreamer framework
including mp3, ogg, flac, mpeg, avi,
vob, mod and others. While it do
support audio formats it is designed
to primarly be a video player.

Whats New
      * Julien Moutte has taken over
        as lead developer
      * New much improved GUI.
      * All known crasher bugs fixed
        (some fixed in gstreamer
        core and will be available
        in GStreamer 0.6.1 to be
        released soon).
      * New dynamic resizing (but
        with proper symetric
        scaling)
      * Playlist
      * Much improved fullscreen
        mode with nice autohiding
        slider

Known issues
Most known major issues are fixed in
this version of gst-player. There
are some polish items left like
rescaling in non-xv mode for
instance.

There are also some other issues
caused by bugs in GStreamer core.
This bugs are fixed in CVS head and
is in the process of getting
backported to the 0.6 stable branch.
A new release the 0.6.x stable
series will be released soon as,
GStreamer 0.6.1. The major issues
here is gst-player crashing after
the third video is loaded into it
and some sync issues in AVI files.

Fun Stuff
If you want to make your own
screenshots you need to edit the
GStreamer videosink GConf key. After
xvideosink add 'disable-xv=1'. We do
not advise using this for normal
viewing if you have Xv support
available, as it lowers performance
and disables scaling.

For even more fun, set the key to
something like agingTV ! colorspace
! xvideosink

You find download instructions and

0.5.0 release page:

Sodipodi 0.31

Hello everyone!

So here we are with third try (i.e. bugfix release after
port to Gtk+ 2.0). There was really silly redraw bug in
both 0.29 and 0.30, causing the whole window to be repainted
again and again (read - it was slooooooow).

Sodipodi 0.31 release notes
===========================

This is the second bugfix release after switching to Gtk+ 2.0. Hopefully
all internals are stabilized now and we can continue with features.

There was nasty redraw bug, causing full window to be constantly
repainted (and layout recalculated), thus making Sodipodi painfully slow
if big windows and complex graphics were used.

Highlights (in the order of Changelog):

    * Faster radial gradients (Lauris)
    * Update changed region, not full display (Lauris)
    * Made sticky zoom working (Lauris)
    * Dropper tool (Lauris)
    * Handful of minor bugfixes (Lauris)
