"Andreessen and his old colleague Mittelhauser see this as a
natural outgrowth of the Heartland values shared by those who
developed Mosaic, part of a geek ethos rooted in the early days of
the personal computer that was popularized well beyond technology
during the Internet gold rush.

engineering,' Andreessen said. 'It's part of the Midwest ethic of
egalitarianism.'
