Fourth Annual GUADEC in Dublin, Ireland

May 21, 2003, 05:30 (0 Talkback[s])

The GNOME User and Developer European Conference (GUADEC) www.guadec.org begins in less than a month at Trinity College in Dublin from June 16-18, 2003. If you are planning to attend and have not yet registered, please do so at: http://www.guadec.org/register.php

GUADEC 4 features two days dedicated to GNOME developers and a third day for users, IT managers and policy makers from Europe and other regions to examine successful case studies and share experiences from the public and private sectors. We've even added a small expo and tutorials in GIMP & GTK this year.

GUADEC has enjoyed tremendous growth over its short history, with attendance growing more than 400% in that time. Last year's GUADEC in Seville, Spain had an immediate and real impact on free software adoption in the regions of Extremedura and Andalucia. This year, officials from the Junta de Andalucia and Junta de Andalucia will present how these projects originated and have been implemented.

Can you help us?
GNOME Foundation has a number of requests from developers who need financial assistance for GUADEC travel and housing. If you are able to "support a hacker," you may do so through the "Friends of GNOME" program.

Contributions can be made on-line, via PayPal, at <http://www.gnome.org/friends/> or by sending a check via snail mail to:
