Java-Gnome 0.8.3

Java-Gnome provides Java libraries for creating GTK+ and GNOME applications using the Java programming language. This is a truly free graphical system for Java, including support for glade, a GUI building tool; for GNOME application developers, it provides a convenient object orientated API without any worries of memory management.

0.8.3 is our latest stable release for stable gtk/gnome releases. We also have 2.5.x releases with the latest code which will become java-gnome 2.6 when gnome 2.6 is released.

Changes since 0.8.2:

  • Gnome password dialog widget removed.
  • Build script now finds db2html or docbook2html in the users path
  • Build script not finds the libgcj jar file correctly

Jeffrey Morgan made this release possible with lots of hard work (while working hard on the 2.5 branch at the same time!). Many thanks to Jeff.

Java-Gnome 0.8.3 is available from the java-gnome sourceforge pages. The website will be updated soon to reflect these changes.

If you have any comments about this release, or Java-Gnome in general, please contact our mailing list
