Hardware Monitor applet 1.0.1

A lot of translations have been committed lately so I thought I would get them out to the masses. This release also fixes an annoying bug with GTK+ 2.4 where the applet shows up without anti-aliasing.

What's new:

  • Lots of translations
  • Fixed AA bug
  • Fixed column viewer bug where columns with the value zero where rendered wrong

Features:

  • monitor CPU/memory/swap/disk usage, load average, Ethernet/modem/wireless throughput, internal temperatures, internal fan speeds
  • multiple views that all support multiple monitors:
    • a curve view with smooth lines
    • a bar view with wacky horizontal bars
    • a column view with ultra-clear vertical blocks
    • a text view for those who want extreme precision
    • a flame view to impress your friends
  • a modular design for future enhancements
  • well-behaved GNOME panel applet (no floating gkrellm windows)

The source can be downloaded from here:

http://www.cs.auc.dk/~olau/hardware-monitor/

Screenshots are also available from the above page. The applet requires Gnome 2.2 and the gtkmm and gnomemm* libraries from www.gtkmm.org. Note that you need to install libsensors and setup lm-sensors with your kernel if you want to monitor temperatures and fan speeds.

Monster Masher 1.6, 1.6.1

Splashy, splashy, SPLASH!

What's new:

  • Added a splash screen for the menus and the introduction.
  • Fixed a long-standing bug where two monsters could occupy the same tile.
  • Fixed anti-aliasing/transparency bug with GTK+ 2.4.
  • Revised Portuguese translation.

About Monster Masher:

In the old days, before man entered the world, the gnomes were abundant. Through centuries of hard labour, only slightly eased by the levitational powers provided to them by their god, they bored out shafts and caves in the mountains. Always seeking the precious stones and valuable ore...

Monster Masher is a GPL'ed mash'em-up action game for GNOME. Each level contains a number of blocks and monsters. You're a little gnome running around. By pushing the blocks you can mash the monsters one at a time. There are various power-ups and different kinds of monsters.

http://www.cs.aau.dk/~olau/monster-masher/
http://www.cs.aau.dk/~olau/monster-masher/screenshots.html

The requirements are Gnome 2.2 (or later) and the gtkmm and gnomemm* libraries (note that you still need version 2.2, not 2.4) from www.gtkmm.org/.

Monster Masher 1.6.1

Small bug in a filename prevented 1.6 from running optimally. Fixed now.

What's new:

  • Fixed a filename bug that made the program crash.

ooo-build-1.1.56

OpenOffice.org build:

This package contains Desktop integration work for OpenOffice.org, several back-ported features & speedups, and a much simplified build wrapper, making an OO.o build / install possible for the common man. It is a staging ground for up-streaming patches to stock OO.o.

Changes in this release:

The scariest change was the switch to using a more incremental make based build system on top of OO.o build. But also:

  • bug fixes
    • neon security fix (Rene, Dan)
    • word interop crasher fix backport (Ashwanth)
    • parallel build fixes (Dan, Arkadiusz)
    • word-count translations from Mdk (Martin)
    • S390 build fixes (Rene)
    • font fixes (Dan)
    • KDE font hight fix (Arkadiusz)
    • KDE NWF warning fix (Jan)
    • set HOME only if not set or empty (Arkadiusz)
    • scale-icons / ImageMagick fix (Rene)
    • relocate, apply - check for abs paths (Michael)
    • build work (Arkadiusz, Rene, Dan)
    • handle multiple distros splash artwork (Arkadiusz)
  • features
    • system XRender work (Rene)
    • string comparison speedup backport (Michael)
    • substantially 'make' driven build (Michael)
    • build lang file lists on package (Arkadiusz)
    • several hackers guide / web improvements (Michael, Utomo)
    • Alt-F11 opens VBA dialog (Michael)
  • pending
    • lotus 123 detection fixes (Michael, Ashwanth)

Package available from:

http://ooo.ximian.com/packages/OOO_1_1_1/ooo-build-1.1.56.tar.gz

To find out more and/or get involved in OOo hacking see http://ooo.ximian.com/ and/or subscribe to our OO.o development mailing list at:

gconf-editor 2.7.0

Hi GNOMErs!

gconf-editor "Favola di Venezia" 2.7.0 is out!

This is a development release for GNOME 2.7.0. People wanting a stable release should get gnome-2-6 branch. Some big changes in this release, but the funniest will come over the next ones (search, edit mandatory and default settings...).

I would like to remark and thank new contributions from people comming from the GNOME Love project: James Bowes and Alberto Ruíz. Thanks to you!!!

Improvements:

  • Use GNOME libraries (Shakti Sen)
  • Add Help support (Shakti Sen)
  • Use GNOME standard about dialog (Bug #88279)
  • Make menu icons follow menus_have_icons preference key (Mariano Suarez-Alvarez)
  • Show an alert when the key has no schema (Bug #110745)
  • Replace use of item factory with ui manager (James Bowes from the GNOME love fame!)
  • When removing an item in the list edito, select the next or the previous one (Alberto Ruez, Bug #142994, also a new contributor from the GNOME love and live hacking at guadec-es!)

Fixes:

  • Fix crash when nothing is selected (Richard Hult)
  • Don't show hidden widgets on new windows.
  • Fix compilers warning and build stuff on AIX.
  • Don't escape keys (Bugs #135807 and #136400)
  • Fix a crashing bug in the unref code (Bugs #124662 and #136631)
  • Fix the cell editor for float values (Bug #137468)
  • Fix a crash when launching gconf-editor with a invalid key path (Bug #136381)
  • Allow the notebook in the key editor to fill and expand. (Fix #138557)

Notice that gconf-editor is now maintained by Corto Maltese, but as he usually doesn't answer his email, and he is doing long trips and taking part in amazing adventures (sometimes funnier than hacking on GNOME) I am taking the boring part of commiting patches and making releases. So, if you want to give some love to gconf-editor, send patches or any other issue, please contact me and I'll try to do my best.

About "Favola di Venezia":

Published by Hugo Pratt in 1977, "Favola di Venezia" is a amazing adventures story. Go on and read it! :)

Salu2
