KernelTrap: 2.4 -hf, Tracking the Latest Fixes
Feb 20, 2005, 05:00 (0 Talkback[s])
"Willy Tarreau has begun maintaining the -hf patchset against
the 2.4 stable Linux kernel. The letters naming this patchset stand
for 'hot fix,' intending to provide a simple way to track the
latest important 2.4 fixes between official releases. Patches are
obtained from 2.4 kernel maintainer Marcelo Tosatti's -bk tree.
Willy noted that he is working with Marcelo explaining, 'I offered
to help in this area because I already have to pick random patches
from the BK changesets anyway, so the only additional work will be
to pack them in a more presentable way than what I can do just for
me. Marcelo offered to help me by telling me when he thinks that a
particular patch needs to be merged or excluded...'"
