"Over at Almost Famous we're battling for GPL and otherwise Open Source/Free Software. Internally our only non-open-source software is our billing system, and even that is nearly free in that only future versions will actually be charged for--and then only after a certain amount of active clients. Once the new version comes out we'll be having some big debates over the future of it, along with extensive testing to decide whether it's actually of benefit. The lack of non-commercial software available for our type of business is proving a big problem, and given time we may end up writing something ourselves..."
