"Active 2.6 development happens in Andrew Morton's -mm tree, where cutting edge patches are first merged for testing and stabilization before hopefully eventually making it into Linus' mainline 2.6 tree. A recent thread discussed the difficulty in tracking the -mm kernel, understanding what patches are in what releases, and what patches have made it into the mainline kernel. Andrew agreed, 'it's hard. -mm is always in flux...'"
