"Last week, Sun let loose another open source bombshell when it announced it would be distributing Java Enterprise System, Sun N1 Management software, and available Sun developer tools free-of-charge and under an open source license.

"This week, Sun embraced open source even further at its NC Q405 event in New York City on Tuesday. We always enjoy Sun's quarterly networking event. It's not often we sit in the audience of what feels like a high-level infomercial, and in 2005 we hit the jackpot, with both the third and fourth quarter events being held in New York. It's also not often Sun Chairman and CEO Scott McNealy addresses an East Coast gathering, so we knew we were in for some big news at Tuesday's gathering..."
