times because of the plunge in book sales, which was already
starting before 9/11 but very much accelerated at that point. So I
knew that I was... that I was one of their fluffier employees from
a standpoint of their core business, so I was not at all surprised
to get laid off. People sometimes say, 'Well aren't you angry at
Tim O'Reilly for laying you off?' and I say, 'No, you don't
understand...'"
