"On the phenomenal success of Linux, Linus is justly proud. Back
in 1991 he launched Linux with the comment "I'm doing a (free)
operating system (just a hobby, won"t be big and professional like
GNU) for 386 (486) AT clones." How little did he realise just what
he had set in motion.
"Fast forward to today, and Linus now shares the secret to a
life of adventure and fame: "If you want to travel around the world
and be invited to speak at a lot of different places, just write a
Unix operating system."
"Only wimps use tape backup: real men just upload their
important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it
"Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a
completely unintentional side effect."
