SFLC: Microsoft violated the GPL

"Microsoft's Sam Ramji, senior director of platform strategy at
Microsoft, said that the company had preexisting plans to use GPL
for the drivers, and he stated that the question of whether
Microsoft had violated the GPL was a decision best left to the
community.
"Linux kernel driver team leader Greg Kroah-Hartman, who had
been tipped off by Linux contributor Stephen Hemminger, informed
Microsoft about the violation in March, according to Ramji."
