Google's open source Noop language takes off

"According to the project site, "Noop (pronounced noh-awp, like
the machine instruction) is a new language experiment that attempts
to blend the best lessons of languages old and new, while
syntactically encouraging industry best-practices and discouraging
the worst offenses."
"Sounds interesting, but is also not necessarily a new idea. The
project page notes that the noop will run on a JVM and in source
form will look similar to Java."
