Open Source Web Conferencing for Distance Education

For University or Colleges looking to offer a high-quality learning experience to remote students, we've released a new version of BigBlueButton. BigBlueButton is an open source web conferencing system that offers real-time sharing of slides, voice, chat, video, and desktop sharing.

BigBlueButton combines together over fifteen open source packages into a single system. It supports desktop sharing on Linux as well.

You can download BigBlueButton Virtual Machine (running Ubuntu 9.04):

You can install BigBlueButton on any Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit (server or desktop) with five commands using apt-get (don't you just love packaging):
