"Motorola and Verizon Wireless have announced their latest entrée into the ever-expanding smartphone market with Droid X, a device that should especially appeal to folks who like to watch TV shows, movies and play games on their mobile devices.

"Though the Droid X won't be available until July 15, Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Verizon Wireless officials said it'll be worth the wait. The Droid X features a 1Ghz processor, 4.3-inch display and, later this summer, a free update to Google's (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android 2.2 operating system and Adobe Flash Player 10.1

""Motorola designed Droid X to push the extreme limits of Android innovation, and enable you to do even more with your mobile device," Sanjay Jha, Motorola's co-chief executive officer of Motorola and CEO of Motorola's mobile devices and home business unit, said in a statement. "We are breaking down barriers so that you can experience the Web the way it was meant to be and create, share and view content like never before, either in your hand or in your home."
