"Six months ago, for all the best possible reasons, I
rather tore into Mozilla's Drumbeat project. This led to some
useful dialogue with the man behind it, Mark Surman. At least, I
presume it was useful, since he's still talking to me; indeed, he's
bravely asked me to review the progress of the project.
"There's been a lot, as Surman's post on the subject details.
There's a wide range of projects; there's a Festival coming up a
November in Barcelona; and the Open Web Award 2011 has been
announced. That's all great stuff: it shows that the project has
taken off, and that there's lots of interest from a wide variety of
people and organisations. But I think this richness is also a
problem."
