Adobe AIR ditches Linux users

"Adobe announced today that it was discontinuing its own supported version of AIR for Linux.

The reason? Adobe doesn't seen growth in the Linux desktop.

Is the Linux desktop really as weak as Adobe things? I sincerely think not.

I think the broader issue is that Adobe AIR was never really as easily available for Linux user (ie. included in core project repositories, since it's not open source) and they did a terrible job of packaging .rpm and .deb files too.
