"Clustering solutions were examined... [and you were
advised] to carefully separate what clustering solutions actually
exist from what is promised in an Oct. 31
SearchEnterpriseLinux.com story on enterprise-ready
high-availability Linux solutions. Since then there have been
several new products and releases. Here is a round-up what has
happened:"
"Mountain View-CA-based Silicon Graphics Inc., in collaboration
with SuSE Linux AG of Germany, is shipping a version of its
FailSafe high-availability software for Linux. FailSafe was
originally developed for SGI's IRIX version of Unix."
"The High Availability Linux Project, and 'mainstream' vendors
of high-availability Linux systems, such as Mission Critical Linux
of Lowell, Mass., and Steeleye Technology Inc. of San Jose, Calif.,
report steady progress on the development of their
high-availability solutions."
