Feb 25, 2002, 18:32 (0 Talkback[s])
"Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced the general availability of Advantage Ingres Enterprise Relational Database (Advantage Ingres) Release 2.6. The latest version of CA's popular relational database management system (RDBMS) delivers significant enhancements in performance and scalability, support for web services applications, and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).

Advantage Ingres 2.6 improves performance and scalability with enhanced query optimization and execution techniques, as well as advanced data storage features. To support customers' strategic adoption of Linux, CA is offering Advantage Ingres 2.6 for Linux on both Intel and zSeries processors -- enabling customers to take advantage of the open source platform across enterprise systems of any required scale.

"British Telecom's Retail Division has had a lot of success over the years using CA's Advantage Ingres RDBMS solutions," said Richard David, senior consultant for Austen Consultancy at British Telecom. "With the new enhancements in Advantage Ingres 2.6 we can extend that success with this strategic technology as we cope with growing 24 x 7 order processing requirements."
