"Information management is a key issue in the construction of grid applications. This usually involves the generation, aggregation and synchronization of information about grid resources for use in resource discovery, selection, and optimization. In the Open Grid Service Architecture (OGSA), everything is represented as a grid service and expresses its state in a standardized way as Service Data Elements (SDEs).
