After what might have seemed like an eternity to some (though was only 3 and half years in reality), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL) officially became generally available. RHEL 6 was first releasedin November of 2010.
Though there hasn't been a major number change in RHEL version in nearly four years, that hasn't meant that RHEL 6 has stood still either. In fact there have been five separate point updates for RHEL 6 that have incrementally added features to the platform.
