USENIX Association Funds Newest Release from The OpenBSD Project

Mar 05, 1999, 00:01 (1 Talkback[s])

Cynthia Deno writes:

The USENIX Association has a 25-year-long tradition of support for open source software, independent development and open airing of issues unfettered by stodginess or commercial interest. (Hey, we're the original free UNIX group!)

In continuation of this tradition, USENIX recently provided The OpenBSD Project with a grant to underwrite the production of CDs of its newest release. (They will be distributing the new release free to attendees of the USENIX Annual Conference in June.)

The USENIX Board expressed eagerness to help underwrite the cost of development, etc. for other open source software projects. Proposals for how we can help are very welcome. Please contact ellie@usenix.org.
