Infoworld: Forum -- Linux IPO feverJun 18, 1999, 21:21 (1 Talkback[s])
(Other stories by Sean Dugan)
"You know the world's changing when Linux takes its place on the NASDAQ.
"The closest Linux has to a brand name company is probably Red Hat, so it's not too surprising that they're first out of the gate with a $96 million initial public offering. But they probably won't be alone long, as Caldera, with its OpenLinux, is mulling an IPO (or perhaps an acquisition), while system provider VA Research is well along the IPO path as well.
"The good news: Red Hat's finances look promising."
