"IBM stepped up its commitment to the Linux operating system at the PC Expo show in New York last week."

"The company announced a partnership with Caldera to provide education and support to resellers and companies using Linux. IBM will provide support for Caldera's OpenLinux and Caldera will help IBM port software to OpenLinux. The two companies are trying to convince businesses to try Linux. One reason that businesses are supporting Linux for some applications is IBM's endorsement," said Ransom Love, chief executive of Caldera. Software vendors welcomed the move and said the pieces were falling into place for using Linux for real business applications."
