EBIZ Enterprises, Inc. (OTC BB:EBIZ - news), a leading manufacturer and e-commerce distributor of Linux and Windows-based computer systems, announced today their plans to introduce the first true Linux-based Personal Internet Appliance, the PIA(TM).

The PIA, priced at $199, establishes a new entry-level category for Linux computer systems, which brings the performance and reliability benefits of Linux to the consumer market."

"The system comes complete with 2.1 G.B hard drive or greater, 32 Mb RAM, AMD Processor, video card, speakers, a keyboard and a mouse, and requires a separate monitor. Along with Internet capability via Netscape, the PIA will include word processing, spreadsheet and database software capabilities. Because the full Linux operating system is installed, thousands of free-ware and low-cost software programs, from 3-D modeling packages, office productivity, graphics and accounting packages, will run on the new PIA platform."
