Ext2: X on Laptops: Setting it up

Jun 30, 1999, 13:00 (7 Talkback[s])
(Other stories by Rob Kennedy)

Thanks to Rob Kennedy for this link.

"X is one of the toughest things to setup on a laptop if your hardware or laptop is an unknown. Sometimes you luck out, and get it running perfectly, but other times you're stuck with a white blank screen that XFree86 accepts, or have to run in 8 colors and accept a 640x480 screen. This document reviews the places you can check, and some alternatives to regular XFree86 when you don't really know much about how to 'tweak' it to run on your hardware."

Complete story.
