"Red Hat took a big step toward bolstering its e-commerce strategy Tuesday, announcing the E-Commerce Server that is anchored by its own 6.0 version of Linux and bundled with the Apache Web server."

""We think this [Linux E-Commerce Server] can help level the playing field with symmetrical multiprocessor support for up to four processors along with security and good scalability,'' said Tim Buckley, Red Hat's chief operating officer."

"The new server product, which contains the RSA Data Security 128-bit encryption engine, also comes with a separate e-commerce directory. In the directory are a number of finished and trial versions of e-commerce software from several vendors, including Hewlett-Packard and MiniVend."
