Lotus has announced that intends to ship a version of its Notes Domino Server to Linux by the end of the year. Admittedly this is hardly a huge surprise, as it has been previewing the code on its web site. In any event Lotus' owner IBM is backing Linux with as much enthusiasm as it once backed Windows NT, because it believes that Linux will shift a mountain of its Netfinity boxes ('it's nothing personal Bill, its business') and because it's bad for Microsoft ('actually Bill, it is personal')."
