PC Week: TurboLinux debuts cluster server, lines up partners

"TurboLinux Inc. today will debut its anticipated TurboCluster Server, starting at $995 for two-node clusters. The product will scale to cluster 30 Intel-based servers."

"To buoy the product, the San Francisco-based company will also announce a number of partners, including the Santa Cruz Operation and Compaq Computer Corp..."

"With TurboCluster, customers finally see something that will be more than just another file server or a 'let's run our little interdepartmental Web server on Linux,'" said Cliff Miller, founder and CEO of TurboLinux. "TurboCluster Server lets them do something important. It shows a path to where Linux is going to become a viable platform for the enterprise."
