"Computer Associates has established a working group called the 'CA Enterprise Linux Advisory Council'. The purpose of the group is to bring together a diverse set of Linux user sites in order to steer CA towards developing the functionality that is needed when deploying Linux in an Enterprise IT environment. The initial members of the council represent a diverse set of industries and include Amerada Hess, Center7, eToys, Fidelity Investments, Georgia Institute of Technology, Red Hat and the Revere Group."
"Initial reports of the group indicate a general agreement that members wish to identify the barriers to entry that exist when it comes to deploying Linux for enterprise-strength systems. Presumably the following step will include CA getting a step ahead in the development of productivity and management tools specifically geared to the shortcomings of Linux that are recognised by the group."
